Can Children Get Aphthous Ulcers?
Aphthous ulcers, also known as canker sores, are the most
common ulcers of the mouth. They affect about 20 percent of the world's
population, and may first appear during childhood. The exact cause of aphthous
ulcers is not known, and there is no permanent cure for the problem. They are
not contagious. People who have aphthous ulcers are likely to be affected by
them again.
